Happy Thanksgiving and sharing the music

Hi everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving (it's snowing now in Hartford, CT)!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Amistad Black Tie Gala and Fund Raising Event Nov 15th at the Wadsworth.
It was great witnessing the Hartford jazz Society being honored.
But my biggest joy always is to perform, and I did so there with pianist/vocalist Warren Byrd and his Byrspeak Ensemble; here he is solo accompanying the Black National Anthem  (you might recognize some local luminaries singing along).

For seeing and hearing me perform live, click my calendar; there are performances scheduled in the US from the End of December on. And I will be in New York for the APAP conference and the Festivals around January 8-10.

However first I look forward to an upcoming tour in the Netherlands playing small and big venues and events, like the Mahogany Hall Jazz Club in Edam, and of course at Amsterdam's well-known  "Jazz Cafe Alto".

Very thankful I am that I just was in Europe thru most of October, playing with my band: "The Saskia Laroo Band" in Poland at the Jelenia Gora Jazzfestival Oct 25 and on Oct 15 we opened the Amsterdam Dance Event at their most famous Dutch pop-templeParadiso, featuring the great trombonist "Mr. Defunkt" Joseph Bowie. That night we released a new videoclip: Africa Dancin'(radio version) from the limited edition CD Live in Zimbabwe, also released that night and previously this year released on DVD.

Got a very nice review on Allaboutjazz about a concert in Amsterdam's oldest jazzclub: the Cotton Club
"...Some fools say jazz is also a monolith. Not as long as there are vibrant energizers like Laroo's crew playing. Her stage was small scale, but her performance was large. It was exactly the kind of thing that keeps jazz alive."

Winter is a GREAT time to book, I'd like to fill in my calendar and you can look on my bookings website www.laroobookings.com or email me directly at saskialaroo@hotmail.com about any of my bands for big or small events and venues, private or open to the audience.

Thank you as always for your support.

Jazzy greetings,
