My Dear Music Friends,

I am by now nearly two weeks in the USA and have played a nice amount of gigs, such as those with the Afro-Semitic Experience and Warren Byrd’s Byrdspeak Ensemble; after two more performances on my agenda, I will fly end of this week from New York to Germany for a special Konkani concert on Saturday night in the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (House of World Cultures) in Berlin.

In 2009 I have played on a big Konkani Rocks concert in Goa, India with young, authentic Konkani musicians, and find that Indian mix of Caribbean, Portuguese and African music styles with blues influences totally incredible.

So I’m rather proud to be on the stage with The Konkani Goan All Stars this weekend in Berlin playing their regional music, their authentic style (it’ll be like jamming with Goa’s own “Buena Vista Social Club”)!

"Konkani Music, a mix of jazz, rock n roll, Latin American rhythms, Portuguese influences and pop-like tearjerkers, developed in Goa from the 1920s to the 1970s. On the trail of central figures such as trumpet player Chris Perry or the legendary singer Lorna, sound engineer Sigrid Pfeffer explored this incredible mix, compiling
the CD “Konkani Songs” in 2009.

After this short intermission in Europe,
I hope to be back Sunday in the USA in time for a performance for their "Summer Music Series" in Redding, NY .
