Like last year it was a heavy weather and beautiful action-packed month of January in the US, where we rang out the Old and the New Year giggin', followed by more delightful appearances with wonderful musicians and Warren Byrd by my side,

Jazzkia is Saskia Laroo’s Jazz Quartet and featuring a multi-national cast of jazz and cross-over musicians. They have toured across the world, curiously exploring new sound and groove combinations of electric and acoustic music with respect to tradition.

World-renowned trumpeter Saskia Laroo and international pianist/vocalist Warren Byrd together create a smorgasbord of music for a wide palette of occasions from the grand gala-fest to the intimate hang. Whether performing dance classics, the American songbook, hot afro-Latin grooves, or their own catchy, poignant originals this unique two can manifest as a soothing background pad, a party-rousing tandem, or a grand showpiece. Laroo and Byrd can unleash their potent charm anywhere anytime. At an opportune request, Saskia and Warren can transmute from state of the art duo into full band.

The Saskia Laroo band has a multi-national cast of musicians, playing original compositions from her albums. Their music is a combination of jazz, pop, world and dance music, consisting of stylesdriving rhythms, powerful rap, and intense solos; an improvised mix of today ‘s electric and acoustic groove music with respect to tradition.
