From West to East: Duo Laroo-Byrd to Vietnam and more

Dear Music Friends,

Spring was really cold in Hartford, Ct - US and lots of snow.
Fortunately we were given wonderful opportunities to give concerts with our music, some highlights were a concert with my jazz quartet Jazzkia for Baby Grand Jazz @ HPL and with the full Saskia Laroo Band @ Jazz Meets Hip-Hop in ReaArtWays @ Creative Cocktail, you can also see it back on Connecticut TV. Now for the remainders of Spring plus Summer there are again beautiful concerts scheduled. Here a short summary:

                                   With Duo Laroo/Byrd 

                                   we are slated to a two-week Vietnam tour to perform as a Duo and with Vietnamese band Fingers for the Dutch Embassy on a Kings Day Reception by invitation in it's capital Hanoi. Next we will give workshops, master classes and five public performances together with local musicians; three in the Europe Village to celebrate 45-years of relations between the Netherlands and Vietnam, a 'tiny music club' performance in the Ha Noi Social Club, and a concert in the Vietnam National School of Music. There I will perform on a trumpet of the Dutch brand  Adams. The Vietnam tour has been made possible with support of the  Dutch Performing Arts Fund.

Afterwards we fly back to the Netherlands where there are already performances scheduled as well in the saskialaroo.com/agenda and I am actually quite proud of the concerts as  Ambassador with my band Saskia Laroo's Jazzkia ft Warren Byrd during the Red Light Jazz festival.
