Duo Laroo/Byrd is excited to bring their music to the European Jazz Festival on December 7, 2024. Honored by an invitation from the Dutch Embassy, they will perform original Dutch compositions enriched with interactive, organic jazz, honed through years of global performance experience. Audiences of all ages and cultural backgrounds are warmly welcome.
Based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, trumpeter/saxophonist Saskia Laroo and pianist/percussionist Warren Byrd together form Duo Laroo/Byrd. Both are vocalists, composers, and bandleaders, known for their unique style.
This year’s Katara European Jazz Festival, organized by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) with participation from over 10 countries, will take place from December 5 to December 8, 2024. The festival will be held at Katara, starting nightly at 6:30 pm. As one of Katara’s most significant events, the festival has become a hallmark of cultural collaboration, bringing together some of the world’s best jazz musicians and composers.
The Katara European Jazz Festival fosters cultural exchange and unity through the universal language of music, promoting friendship, peace, and cooperation between nations while celebrating diversity in the arts.
