Dear Music Friends,
I have just one more week in the Netherlands
and then I
wing over great pond for a two-month USA stay
for performances
(
see agenda),
to produce new material and continue the search for a new home.
Recently,
The Saskia Laroo Band completed our October whirl-tour
in India, with project Jazz Meets Hip Hop --10 shows in nine days!
It was really a whirl, especially
for the intense romp through the student festival circuit
at some of India's top Universities

Traversing India also rollicked.
Our Delhi to Kampur round-trip rail ride
is a segment of the Indore-Patna Express route
and where recently catastrophe struck.
On behalf of the band, we express
our sorrow for all the victims of the detailment near Kanpur
-it could have been us.
Back in the Netherlands, we yielded joy in great performances,
among many, such as
at the new
Jazz Club Nr2 in Vorden,
and at two reunion revues of
Duo Laroo / Byrd with the ZL Combo
for my old school,
het Zaanlands Lyceum in
het Zaantheater,

and I have yet another reunion performance
this coming Sunday at
the Purmaryn with my
fanfare, De Eendracht of Den Ilp, NL with
Warren Byrd,
celebrating it's 125-year!
During the performance in the Cotton Club on the Nieuwmarkt in Amsterdam
we fashioned a fine retro-styled shoot,
thanks to
Fonz And then the other 2 of my last 3 performances of 2016 in the Netherlands are:

Duo Laroo / Byrd meet Elsa's Jazz Trio at
Elsa's Cafe Amsterdam and
Saturday Jazzkia (Saskia Laroo Jazz Quartet) in
Artishock, Soest.
As of next Tuesday morning
Warren and I are off to the U.S.
